Division Manager, Legal & Business Affairs
In its function as a rights management organisation, GVL forms a link between rights owners and rights users. The tasks covered by the division Legal & Business Affairs and its Manager, Burkhard Sehm, are therefore diverse and varied: The division team do not just look after the collaboration with currently more than 50 sister organisations worldwide but also create the concept, plans and calculations regarding the various distributions of GVL. On top of that, the team of Burkhard Sehm also advise the General Management regarding any legal issues and aspects of tariff design. The customer service for rights users and processing licensing agreements is also at home in this area.
Burkhard Sehm is a lawyer and holds a diploma in cultural and media management. He has been with GVL since 2003, where he first worked as an in-house counsel. Since 2010, he has held the position of division respectively division manager. Prior to joining GVL in, he had been working for a leading global media group and in various law firms.
