GVL distributes international funds to its rights holders
In total, GVL is carrying out a distribution of around 3.2 million euros in this round of payments. The remunerations originate from 21 countries worldwide, with around half of the distributions going to performers from neighbouring countries Austria and Switzerland. Musicians also receive remunerations from the USA, France and Belgium, amongst others. For actors, the remunerations also come from the Netherlands and France. Distributions to producers come primarily from the UK, Spain and Denmark and once again include remuneration from the MTV broadcasting group for the broadcast of music videos.
Further expansion of the international network
On behalf of performing musicians, GVL has concluded a representation agreement with RAYS in Azerbaijan. The collaboration is now getting underway – and lays the groundwork for the distribution of remuneration from Azerbaijan to our rights holders in future.
Simply authorise us to manage your international rights:
The requirements for receiving international remuneration are authorisation for international rights management, as well as contributions and repertoire details submitted via our rights holders’ portals. We recommend that you always register all your contributions on the ‘my.gvl’ portal. Even if there are currently no domestic uses, international use cannot be ruled out. GVL ensures that potential claims for all your contributions are asserted abroad.
To ensure that remuneration can be reliably distributed, we also ask our rights holders to regularly check their master data on the rights holders’ portals and update it as necessary.
- Performers should use the ‘Assignment of Rights to GVL’ form for international authorisation and my.gvl for all other matters
- Producers should use the online portal label.gvl for both matters
