Performers: Final distribution for 2017 and 2018 launched

Today, GVL is launching remuneration payouts to its eligible performers as part of its final distribution for the years 2017 and 2018.

GVL is closing the distribution for the usage years 2017 and 2018 with this final distribution. All funds, including available reserves for these years, will be distributed. Remuneration from the so-called “open budgets” such as jingles or advertising are included in this distribution run for the first time.

Distribution years in numbers

In the course of this final distribution for 2017, a total of EUR 22.6m and for 2018, a total of EUR 26.3m will be distributed. Overall amounts available stood at about EUR 87.3m for the 2017 distribution year and about EUR 86.4m for the 2018 distribution year.

These funds will now be distributed to all rights holders who submitted their contributions in productions with usages in 2017 and 2018 within the required notice period. As such, 152,421 performing artists took part in the distribution for 2017 and as many as 150,137 performing artists in the distribution for 2018.
 

Some information on the payout notifications 

We send e-mails to performers who will receive a payout as soon as a current payout notification is available in meine.gvl. Rights holders who have not provided us with their e-mail address and legal successors receive their payout notification by post (delivery can take up to two weeks).

After no more than two weeks, the detailed reports with the breakdown of your remuneration rights are available via meine.gvl.
