GVL at the Reeperbahn Festival 2026

On 17 and 18 September, you’ll find us at the RBF Conference in Hamburg.

GVL will once again be taking part in the Reeperbahn Festival in 2026 – with exciting sessions, information about our work and experts from our team. Would you like to find out more about how we support performers and labels? Or do you have any questions about rights management and the work of GVL? Then make the most of this opportunity, come and have a chat with us and get to know us better in person.

You can meet us at the following events, amongst others, as part of the Reeperbahn Festival 2026 conference programme:

Thursday | 17 September | 11.15 am–12.15 pm | East Hotel | Aqua Room, Hamburg

Session: Your music, your money – GVL for creatives and labels

Is your song playing on the radio? Then claim your remuneration! As a musician or label, GVL should be part of your setup. Because we ensure that you get paid for your music when it’s played. In this workshop, you’ll learn all the basics: Who actually holds neighbouring rights? What’s the difference between GEMA and GVL? And above all: How exactly do you get your money? We’ll explain it all to you!

Speakers: Sandy Backhaus, Head of Rights Holders’ Service for Performers & Dirk Löwenberg, Head of Rights Holders’ Service for Producers

Friday | 18 September | 11.00–14.00 | Reep at the Schmidt Theatre

Reception: A chat with the GVL and Initiative Musik (invitation only)

Same time, same place – once again this year, it’s time for ‘A chat with the GVL and Initiative Musik’ at the Reep (Schmidt Theatre). On Friday 18 September 2026, from 11.00 to 14.00, we’d like to invite you to join us for breakfast with good conversation, coffee, chilled drinks and tasty snacks – and, of course, the most beautiful balcony view over the Reeperbahn. Take this opportunity to meet our teams in person, hear exciting news from the GVL and find out more about Initiative Musik’s current projects, funding programmes and awards.

Friday | 18 September | 12.30–1.30 pm | VUT Indie Days: sanktpaulibar, 1st floor

Consultation session with the GVL

How do I register repertoire and my contributions in productions with the GVL? What do I need to bear in mind when using the portals? And how does the payout process work? GVL experts Sina Jantsch and Anja Marenbach will answer your questions about registrations, payouts, deadlines and all matters relating to the GVL. You can bring specific queries and receive practical advice. If needed, Sina and Anja will also guide you through the label.gvl and my.gvl portals.

GVL – what was that again? In short: the collecting society ensures that creatives and labels are remunerated when their productions are used. GVL administers the neighbouring rights of over 180,000 producers and performing artists.

Representing GVL at the event: Sina Jantsch, label support expert at GVL, and Anja Marenbach, Head of Popular Music & Agency Support in GVL’s Rights Holders Service for Performers

Registration via the VUT.
