Three-country meeting of the Joint Societies for Neighbouring Rights

The three collecting societies in the DACH region – SWISSPERFORM, LSG and GVL – met in Zurich last week.

On 15 and 16 April, we visited SWISSPERFORM in Zurich together with our sister organisation LSG from Austria. The occasion was the annual DACH meeting of German-speaking collecting societies for neighbouring rights.
The two-day conference focused on personal exchange and collaborative work on current issues. Executives and specialist colleagues from the Joint Societies discussed operational, legal and technical matters, including the use of artificial intelligence and the handling of AI-generated music.

‘On behalf of the entire GVL delegation, we would like to thank SWISSPERFORM for their hospitality and for the constructive, fruitful discussions with the representatives of our German-speaking sister societies.’

As so-called joint societies, all three collecting societies represent both performing artists and producers in equal measure.

“The annual face-to-face meetings with representatives of our sister societies in Austria and Switzerland are a key part of our professional and strategic networking,” explain GVL managing directors Guido Evers and Tilo Gerlach.

“The trilateral exchange outside of day-to-day business gives us the opportunity to explore important topics in greater depth, such as dealing with AI-generated music or improving data exchange between us. On behalf of the entire GVL delegation, we would like to thank SWISSPERFORM for their hospitality and for the constructive, fruitful discussions with the representatives of our German-speaking sister societies.”
