Delegate elections 2025: Successful online elections and new impetus for committee work
In June 2025, the regular election of delegates for the Associates’ and Delegates’ Assembly (GuDV) took place as part of the GVL rights holders' assembly – completely digitally, as in 2021. In an election week that ran over four days for the first time, the approximately 180,000 GVL rights holders were able to cast their votes and re-elect their representatives.
Elections completed with transparency and diligence
The elections were once again completed online on a specially set up election portal to enable as many rights holders as possible to participate. A total of 22 delegates and their substitute delegates from 15 different rights holders groups were elected. As in previous years, the election was supervised by Prof. Christian Höppner, President of the German Cultural Council and himself a GVL rights holder as a cellist and conductor. He praised the elections for having been completed with ‘great care, a high degree of transparency and technical competence’.
Significant increase in the proportion of women in the GuDV
The newly elected delegates represent the interests of artists, producers and event organisers in the GuDV, GVL's central supervisory body. The increase in the proportion of women was particularly encouraging: with eight female delegates now represented, an important step has been taken towards achieving a more balanced representation within the committee structure.
The detailed election results and information on the elected delegates and substitute delegates can be found on the GVL website.
