GVL Live: Exchange, insights and encounters
GVL Live marked the festive conclusion of BV2025 on 11 June. The week before, GVL rights holders had already elected the delegates for the Associates’ and Delegates’ Assembly (GuDV). This made GVL Live the highlight of the Rights Holders' Assembly, which takes place every four years, for the first time.

Over 200 participants – including newly elected delegates, rights holders and industry representatives – gathered at the Berliner Festsaal Kreuzberg to network, experience inspiring ideas and take a look behind the scenes at GVL.
Culture politician Dr Carsten Brosda opens ‘GVL Live’
Dr Carsten Brosda, Senator for Culture of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg and President of the German Stage Association, opened the event with a keynote speech (click here for the video recording) in which he emphasised the central role of culture in social cohesion.
GVL Managing Directors Guido Evers and Dr Tilo Gerlach then looked back on the past four years and gave an outlook on the future development of the collecting society. Music cabaret artist Dr Pop brought a fresh and entertaining perspective to the programme with his contribution on AI in pop music.
Plenty of inspiration between workshops and live music
In the afternoon, guests enjoyed a varied programme of workshops on artificial intelligence and in-depth insights into the work of GVL. The event concluded with a successful get-together in the summer garden, accompanied by live music from Nina ‘Miu’ Graf, among others. Guests enjoyed a day dedicated to dialogue and insights into the future of the industry.
