Results of the BV2025: 22 delegates elected
More than 180,000 performers and producers were called upon to participate in this year's delegate elections as part of the GVL Rights Holders' Assembly 2025. For the second time, the elections took place exclusively online, and for the first time, GVL had set aside an entire election week for this purpose from 2 to 6 June.
Online elections on the BV2025 portal
In the online elections, rights holders elected their 22 delegates and substitute delegates for the coming term of office. They represent the interests of over 180,000 GVL rights holders in the central committee, the Associates’ and Delegates’ Assembly (GuDV), and will actively shape the work of the GVL over the next four years. The election was once again supervised by Prof. Christian Höppner, President of the German Cultural Council and himself a GVL rights holder as a cellist and conductor.
Proportion of women in the Associates' and Delegates' Assembly increased
It is particularly pleasing that the proportion of women has been significantly increased. With the aim of specifically strengthening diversity in its committees, GVL called on women in particular to stand as candidates. A total of eight female delegates will now enrich the Associates' and Delegates' Assembly.
‘GVL Live’ in Berlin: Inform, network, celebrate
The Rights Holders' Assembly 2025 will continue next week at the ‘GVL Live’ event on 11 June 2025 in Berlin's Festsaal Kreuzberg. ‘GVL Live’ not only offers insights into current developments at GVL, but also in-depth sessions – for example on artificial intelligence – and intensive deep dives into the world of collecting societies.
Keynote speakers on stage will include Dr Carsten Brosda, Senator for Culture and Media of the City of Hamburg, and musical cabaret artist Dr Pop, who takes a tongue-in-cheek look at the industry. The event will be moderated by Mia Heresch.
