Associates‘ and Delegates’ Assembly met in Berlin
Traditionally, the course for the coming year is set at the November meeting of the Associates‘ and Delegates’ Assembly: In addition to project and budget planning for 2025, this time the preparations for the Rights Holders' Assembly and the release of the funding applications for 2025 were on the agenda.
The 26 members of the Associates‘ and Delegates’ Assembly also used the meeting on 19 November as an opportunity to toast GVL's 65th anniversary.
Detlev Tiemann, the chair of the body, said: ‘GVL is celebrating its 65th birthday this year – a great occasion to say thank you. Thank you for the fact that the GVL team has been successfully looking after the rights of artists and labels since 1959. A big thank you also goes to the delegates and associates who represent the common interests of GVL rights holders on a voluntary basis.’
At the meeting, the Finance, Tariffs and Distribution Committees also reported on their work. The Associates‘ and Delegates’ Assembly also approved amendments to the rights administration agreements, distribution plans and the articles of association.
- Amendments to the rights administration agreements relate, among other things, to the granting of online rights for broadcasting organisations. The adopted distribution plans contain related provisions on distribution keys and bases. We will publish the updated distribution plans in December under Documents and Forms.
- Amendments to the articles of association include, among other things, the inclusion of the goal of promoting a balanced representation of all genders in the organs and committees, as well as adjustments with regard to the holding of group assemblies, including the Rights Holders' Assembly in 2025.
