GVL Board - positions of four members reconfirmed

The Board positions of GVL Board members Dr. Nils Bortloff, Jörg Glauner, Andreas Klöpfel and Ekkehard Kuhn were confirmed by the associates of GVL at the beginning of the year. The four members represent the interests of producers of sound recordings within the GVL Board and had been appointed for a period up to 31 December 2016.

Dr. Nils Bortloff, Vice President Legal & Business Affairs at Universal Music, has been an active Board member since 2004; Jörg Glauner, General Counsel Warner Music Central Europe, joined one year after that. The COO & CFO at Warner Music Central Europe, Andreas Klöpfel, has been involved since 2013, while lawyer Ekkehard Kuhn can look back on a Board membership counting nearly nine years.

The two Managing Directors at GVL, Guido Evers and Dr. Tilo Gerlach, welcome the decision. "Due to their experience ranging over several years within the music sector, particularly the work within GVL's committees, and their well-founded knowledge on the legal and political environment of the collective management organisations, we are looking forward to a continued and extremely valuable cooperation. In such changing times, subject-matter expertise and a healthy measure of continuity prove to be important factors to implement legal changes", says Guido Evers.
 
A particular concern of the four Board members is to continue to increase GVL's income on behalf of all members and to focus their activities specifically on the digital developments of the music industry.
