Invitation to support the initiative "Creators for Europe"

In the course of the public consultation of the European Commission on copyright in Europe, European music authors have launched the initiative "Creators for Europe", with the aim to invite creators and supporters of copyright to participate.

Via the initiative's website it is possible to participate in the public consultation by answering a questionnaire and/or to sign a petition for copyright. The contributions thus received shall then influence the reform of EU copyright. On the users' side, thousands have asked for a restriction of the existing scope of protection. As it affects their existence, it is vital that people active in the creative industries take position.

GVL therefore joins this initiative "Creators for Europe" and calls its members to participate in the public consultation of the EU Commission. The deadline of the consultation is 05 March 2014.

Unfortunately there is no German version of the EU questionnaire. GEMA has, however, created a version together with the British collective management organisation PRS, where some important questions are commented on in German and are sorted by means of short references and pointers: http://www.rightsholderseucopyright.co.uk/de/

It is possible to answer the questionnaire in German.
