Payout period postponement: Important information for artists

GVL regrets having to announce that the distribution which had originally been scheduled for September must be postponed once more. The period during which the payouts will take place is now expected to be in December 2018. For technical reasons, the launch may well be protracted into next year.

Overview of the pending distributions and new dates for artists:

  • December 2018/January 2019: Initial distributions 2017 and Subsequent distributions 2016
  • After that: Subsequent distributions 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017 plus a distribution of the previously unallocated sub-budgets (TV broadcasts with the exception of individual TV contributions and own radio productions) from 2010
  • Final distribution 2013: anticipated for the 2nd/3rd quarter 2019

The delays affect the initial distribution for usage year 2017 as well as the subsequent distribution for usage year 2016 for productions in the categories sound recordings and TV broadcasts and video clip distributions (music video clips). We shall pay out for repeat repertoire during this distribution run as a priority. In order to be able to do this accurately and in order to provide enough resources for the processing of contribution registrations regarding the final distribution 2013, we postpone the subsequent distributions for the years 2014 and 2015 as well as the distribution for remuneration relating to radio own productions from 2016 onwards. We shall pay out the remuneration for the years 2013, 2014 and 2015 in all media categories in the course of the next regular distribution –  together with the subsequent distributions for the years 2016 and 2017.  A registration for new products regarding broadcast years 2016 and 2017 is already possible. Existing new products are, however, not complete yet and are gradually complemented.
