Dr. Tilo Gerlach
Dr Tilo Gerlach joined GVL as legal adviser in 1996 and has been its managing director since 2001. His work focuses on the interests of performing artists, as well as on legal and cultural policy issues.
A native of Berlin, he is a lecturer at Humboldt University in Berlin and has published numerous articles on copyright law and the rights of performing artists. Together with Rolf Dünnwald, he is the author of the legal commentary *Schutz des ausübenden Künstlers* (*Protection of the Performing Artist*), which provides a comprehensive explanation of the legal provisions governing the protection of artistic performances.
He has also been actively involved in the committees of the international umbrella organisations SCAPR and AEPO-ARTIS, championing the rights of performing artists and promoting global cooperation between collecting societies.
