Closing distribution for performers for the years 2013-2014 starts on 31 August
With the closing distribution, GVL is concluding the distribution for the usage years 2013 and 2014. All funds, including reserves that are available to us for these years, will be distributed. The budget for the closing distribution increased again in July this year thanks to additional payments for private copying (ZPÜ). These funds will now be distributed to all rights holders who have submitted their contributions in productions with usages in 2013 and 2014.
The following two diagrams break down the allocated remuneration for the individual distribution budgets and distribution years:
The high increase in remuneration compared with the last distribution run in May 2020 is noticeable, which is largely due to the release of reserves for the distribution years 2013 and 2014. For reasons of fairness to all those potentially entitled to receive remuneration, we are obliged to reserve these funds. Over a four-year notification period, all rights holders had the opportunity to notify GVL of their contributions in productions with usages. After this period has expired, said remuneration reserves will be dissolved and distributed to the rights holders who participate in the closing distribution as a supplement. The basis for this is the remuneration share of the individual performers in the remuneration total. The remuneration reserves are distributed in the same proportion (pro rata).
The following chart shows how many rights holders participate in the final distribution for the years 2013 and 2014, broken down by distribution year and distribution budget.
Important: We can only pay out the amounts to rights holders for whom we hold all legally required information (including current registered address, account details, resolved inheritance rights). If this information is missing, GVL will block the payout until all relevant information has been received in full.
Performers who receive a payout will be informed by e-mail as soon as a current payout notification is available in my.gvl. Rights holders for whom we do not have an e-mail address, will receive their payout notification by post, as usual. Over the coming weeks, detailed reports of the relevant years can be viewed in my.gvl.
