GVL forwards foreign remuneration to performing artists and recording producers

For the third time this year, GVL is forwarding royalties from abroad to its rightholders.

Recently, international revenues were already distributed to their entitled recording producers. Now, as planned, the remuneration for performing artists will follow these days. "We are pleased to announce that in parallel with the initial and subsequent distributions, we are successfully forwarding international remuneration and are able to pay out approximately €1.7 million to our rightsholders in this distribution round," reports Burkhard Sehm, head of Legal & Business Affairs.

This time, our recording producers are paid from Denmark, France Great Britain and the USA, among other countries.  We forward money to our performing artists from Sweden, the Netherlands, Belgium, Spain, Austria and others. Our actors and actresses also receive usage-based royalties from Switzerland for the first time.

Prerequisites for receiving foreign remuneration are the reportings of participations and the registrations of repertoire in our online portals as well as the commissioning for international rights management.

You can find out exactly how we collect funds from abroad in the infographic:

Updating of master data

  • Recording producers can find their company data in the portal label.gvl under „Master data“
