Our long-time employee, Mirjam Kurz, has passed away

Just a few days ago, we received the sad news that Mirjam Kurz, our long-time employee, has passed away after a long illness. We grieve for a dedicated colleague, a loyal companion and a caring mother. Our thoughts are with her family, in particular her sister and her son.

Over a 13-year stretch, Mirjam Kurz built our section for broadcast licensing. She was absolutely service-oriented and acted as the face of GVL for TV and radio broadcasters, for whom she was a personal point of contact. Her relationship with her clients was close yet professional, supported by mutual appreciation and long-term cooperation.

The joy she got out of job, day in, day out, was unmissable. She did not just work with a love for detail but also with a concentrated calmness - some of her colleagues were already on their way home from the office, when she sat down to contemplate her work once more. Due to this attitude it was close to her heart, even during her illness, that she could hand over what she had built over the years at GVL in an orderly fashion to someone else; by doing so, she would also leave her personal touch for the future. We at GVL will miss her beaming face as well as her funny comments. Dr. Tilo Gerlach and Guido Evers stated: "We grieve together with those that are close to Mirjam Kurz. We have lost a person that has been close to GVL for many years, and we will always remember her as a highly-esteemed colleague."

Esther Holldack is going to continue the work of Mirjam Kurz. She is now the new contact person for TV and radio broadcasters (sender-buchhaltung@gvl.de).
