Registration deadline for sound recordings released 1963 to 1971 (Extension of protection period)

Important information about the extension of the term of protection according to §79a UrhG

This message is only relevant for you if you participated in sound recordings with one-time payment (buy-out contract) in the years 1963 to 1971

the protection period for sound recordings released from 1963 onwards has been legally extended from 50 to 70 years. Artists are entitled to a share in the sales revenues of such recordings.  

If you have not yet registered these titles in my.gvl, please do so by 31.01.2024.

If you do not currently have a contract with GVL, please contact the appropriate team listed below immediately. 

Do you know fellow musicians who were involved in productions during these years? Then please forward this information to them.
