Save the date: Rights holders' assembly on 05 May 2017

<p>GVL will hold its next rights holders’ assembly on 05 May 2017 in the Hotel Intercontinental Berlin in Berlin. At the assembly, GVL members will elect their representatives for the individual group assemblies, i.e. their delegates.</p>

Together with the associates in the Associates’ and Delegates’ Assembly, the delegates will decide on all important issues in future; this includes passing a resolution on all distribution plans. Based on the new Act on Collective Management Organisations (VGG), the delegates will replace the GVL Board in its activities within the Associates’ and Delegates’ Assembly and shall, in this context, perceive their right to participate as representatives of the members. Apart from the elections, GVL is planning to provide information on the latest developments and staff will be available for questions and issues. GVL members will be sent their invitations about six weeks prior to the assembly. After they have received their invites, they may run for election. GVL members may also exercise their voting rights by giving a proxy to a representative in lieu of attending the event themselves. Just like before, the German Patent and Trademark Office (DPMA), GVL's supervisory authority, is going to send its representatives to the event and monitor the proper execution of the event.

Following the election on 05 May 2017, the previous GVL Board will be replaced by the Associates’ and Delegates’ Assembly.
