Subsequent distribution: GVL makes special payments

The reason for such a subsequent distribution is the release of the remaining money for private copying PCs by the supervisory authority, the German Patent and Trademark Office (DPMA).. GVL received those outstanding monies by the central collection and distribution organisation for private copying levies in Germany (ZPÜ). In the supplementary distribution to producers and artists, the relevant remuneration values for each distribution year shall be increased by the belated income.

At the same time, a retroactive modification to the distribution regulations shall take effect from 2008. The DPMA has ratified the adjustment of the distribution ratio between producers and artists in the income areas for private copying and communication to the public as decreed by GVL's Board.

The subsequent distribution for producers affects distribution years 2008-2011. The subsequent distribution for artists affects distribution years 2008 and 2009 and shall be made on the basis of the income-based distribution system which is in force up until the distribution in 2010. Payouts to artists for distribution years from 2010 onwards shall be made in December 2013.
