Distributions and corona relief schemes 2020
Since the outbreak of the pandemic, the central objective for GVL was clear: To do our utmost to counteract the financial losses in the cultural sector due to the pandemic by making available a maximum amount of remuneration.
Thanks to the consolidation of our IT systems, we carried out all regular distributions as scheduled and managed to allocate advances and corona support payments to our rights holders. During the initial distribution for the 2019 distribution year alone, nearly 100,000 rights holders had received their remuneration. Overall, eight distributions were processed in 2020, including a total of 31 distribution events; in addition, we forwarded international payments. As a consequence, GVL remained a constant financial factor in the lives of many performers and producers in this very unsteady year.
