Home office and working remotely at GVL
From the first day of the COVID-19 pandemic, GVL staff were working from home. GVL has already drawn a positive conclusion from this period.
GVL also had to adjust to the new circumstances at the onset of the pandemic. During this whole time, the health and well-being of our staff has had the highest priority. As early as in March 2020, GVL switched to working remotely for nearly all staff, practically overnight. This meant that 190 employees suddenly had to work from their desks at home. All processes had to be adapted to completely digital work modes.
The work results were rather impressive. In general, we did not notice any loss of efficiency or service levels: The distributions scheduled for 2020 all took place on time and the many queries submitted by our rights holders continued to be answered in time.
Our staff deserves respect for how they managed to meet these increased demands despite their rather different circumstances regarding their living or housing arrangements. The positive experience from the past year in home office is set to be integrated into a flexible work model which provides a combination of office-based and home-based work even after COVID-19.
