Reeperbahn Festival 2021: “Finally, we can take part on site again!”
The relief among the music business representatives was palpable when we finally met with one another again at the Reeperbahn Festival last year in person. It was a moment providing some respite between the lockdowns of the pandemic and an important networking event for GVL where one could meet friends again.
The pandemic had not been over in September 2021, but it was possible to attend some events and concerts for a while. Each year, the Reeperbahn Festival is an important date for us at GVL because we meet labels and our performers alike. As a consequence, we participated in the conference programme of the Reeperbahn Festival last year; it took place under strict hygiene measures in Hamburg from 22 to 25 September.
In this context, it became obvious to us how important personal exchanges are for the music industry. After many months of contact restrictions, it felt good to be able to take part in events on site. One of the highlights certainly was the gala event of the Indie Awards. We also appreciate the professional input of the comprehensive conference programme with numerous panels and seminars. GVL mainly took part in the conference programme with a number of practice-oriented workshops.
