Berlin 21. June 2018 – In the course of this year’s Associates’ and Delegates’ Assembly on 20. June 2018, GVL has announced very good financial results for the year 2017.
European Copyright Law: GVL welcomes the reform
"GVL supports the decision of the MEPs to sustainably strenghten the rights of all creators in Europe. By way of yesterdays vote for a reform of the EU copyright laws, a future-oriented foundation for creative performances in the digital context was laid", says Dr. Tilo Gerlach, Managing Director of GVL. "To us, a fair remuneration for all creative performances based on a reliable legal foundation has absolute priority. Todays decision is a key milestone for a fair regulation."

2021 - a successful year despite COVID-19: GVL pays out more than ever before
“We had scheduled more distributions than ever for 2021”, GVL Managing Directors Guido Evers and Tilo Gerlach explain. “From the first day of the year, we put every effort into meet-ing these ambitious distribution schedules. Especially these days full of uncertainty for crea-tives and their partners, we placed our priority on paying out as much as possible to our rights holders. As a result, we managed to surpass the peak value of the previous year by another EUR 45m.”

Oliver Ewy takes over from Claudia Michelsen in the As-sembly of Shareholders and Delegates
Oliver Ewy thus takes over the seat as a delegate for the actors. Due to her professional commitments, Claudia Michelsen had to give up her seat in December: “Unfortunately, my professional life does not let me dedicate the time required to fulfil my duties in the GVL committees”, she explains. “As a delegate, I could find out about the complexity behind supposedly simple topics. At the same time, I met a very committed GVL team.
