Overall, GVL distributes 35.8m euros to performers and their legal successors in the course of a subsequent distribution

The distribution will be concluded with the final distribution where additional monies will be paid out which had not been claimed by the performers within the given deadlines. Since we now have a better understanding regarding the scope of the claims for which we must put money into reserves, we were able to increase the payout amounts significantly. 

GVL launched the payouts for the subsequent distributions sound recordings 2018 to 2020 to the producers entitled to receive remuneration today. With immediate effect, the individual distribution results and the relevant payout notifications/statements in case of any additional remuneration being paid are available via our producer portal label.gvl.

GVL is going to bring forward regular distributions 2019 and 2020 and the initial distributions 2021 for event organisers to August 2022. The distributions for event organisers had originally been scheduled for the fourth quarter this year. 

Please note that the notification deadline for the contribution notifications continues to be 30 June 2022. The final distributions 2017 and 2018 shall take place in the fourth quarter 2022, as scheduled.

Dear beneficiaries, 

We would hereby like to remind you to submit your reports for the 2017 and 2018 usage years by Feb. 28, 2022, so that we can consider them for the final distribution. 

This reporting deadline does not apply to the so-called "open budgets" (e.g. individual contributions in shows, commercials, documentary formats).  

As announced previously, we have carried out the payments of individual amounts of the supplementary distribution for the years 2010 - 2014.  This supplementary distribution comprises monies that have been retroactively paid to GVL from the Zentralstelle für private Überspielungsrechte [Central Collection and Distribution Organisation for Private Copying Levies in Germany (ZPÜ)] and monies from dissolved reserves for these years. The corresponding payout notifications are made available on the portal meine.gvl.

“We had scheduled more distributions than ever for 2021”, GVL Managing Directors Guido Evers and Tilo Gerlach explain.  “From the first day of the year, we put every effort into meet-ing these ambitious distribution schedules. Especially these days full of uncertainty for crea-tives and their partners, we placed our priority on paying out as much as possible to our rights holders. As a result, we managed to surpass the peak value of the previous year by another EUR 45m.”

This year, some central distributions for performers, producers and event organisers are due to be paid out. Check out which payouts happen in which quarter in this overview. Apart from the regular distributions, GVL also passes on money from abroad to its rights holders each quarter.

Event organisers who are due remuneration payments can access their individual distribution results of the 2015 and 2016 final distributions and the regular distributions 2017 to 2019 and the initial distribution 2020 on the portal meine.gvl.
