New Representation Agreements for Performing Artists

GVL signs six new representation agreements for its musicians in 2023.

This year, GVL was able to extend the rights management for its musicians abroad by five more territories and has also negotiated an additional agreement with SAI in France.

We have signed new bilateral agreements with the following sister societies for the mutual exchange of remuneration for the exploitation of sound recordings:

  • AMANAT in Kazakhstan
  • FKMP in South Korea
  • GNRA in Georgia
  • PI in Serbia
  • SFH in Iceland

als well as

  • SAI in France for the collection of remuneration from the term of protection extension (Section 79a UrhG, German Copyright Act)

We are very pleased that our intensive efforts to continuously expand the rights portfolio for our rightsholders have paid off this year and that we were able to access five new territories for our musicians.
Peter Buchheit, Head of International Affairs & Business Development

Musicians who have granted GVL a corresponding mandate for the territories mentioned will receive their remuneration for the use of their rights in those countries via GVL with immediate effect. The agreements apply retroactively from 2020 and for Georgia from 2023.

GVL currently runs more than 70 international representation agreements for performing artists as well as recording producers and is always interested in promoting the worldwide exchange with sister societies on behalf of our rightsholders.
