In the course of the Assembly of Shareholders and Delegates, the distribution plans were amended for several distribution years and adopted as such. You can access the updated documents and forms under documents and forms. 
We have summarised for you what has been amended in the following:

Just as announced in the 2021 distribution schedule, GVL has set the distribution of the open budgets for distribution years 2015 and 2016 in motion today.  The open budgets include, among others, radio jingles and radio commercials, music in radio plays and TV docusoaps.

With the final distribution, GVL is closing the distribution for the usage years 2015 and 2016. All funds, including reserves that are available to us for these years, will be distributed. Exempt thereof are revenues for contributions to productions which belong to the so-called open budgets such as jingles and advertising. These will take place shortly.

A central agenda point of the November meeting was the adoption of the project and budget plans for the coming year by the 22 Delegates and the representatives of the four shareholders.  On top of that, the core committee of GVL was informed about the current status of 2021 distributions and the distribution planning for 2022 (more detailed information to follow).

To be eligible for the final distribution, the productions in which you have participated must have been broadcast on radio or TV in 2017 to 2018.

This message is only relevant for you if you participated in sound recordings with one-time payment (buy-out contract) in the years 1963 to 1971

the protection period for sound recordings released from 1963 onwards has been legally extended from 50 to 70 years. Artists are entitled to a share in the sales revenues of such recordings.  

If you have not yet registered these titles in my.gvl, please do so by 31.01.2024.

In 2013, the German Copyright Act extended the protection for sound recordings produced from 1963 onwards from 50 to 70 years.

Artists who were compensated at that time by a one-time payment (buy-out contract) for their participation in the recording are to receive an economic share of the proceeds from sales or digital uses such as streaming or downloading by the producers of sound carriers during the extended protection period. This remuneration is paid via GVL.
