This notification deadline also applies for the so-called “open sub-budgets” for the years 2015 and 2016. For the radio own productions (spoken word) the deadline is scheduled to be 31/05/2021.
Among other things, you can obtain information on how the online registration, the digital participation and the election in the group assemblies will work. You will also find out how you can submit your candidature and which candidates are up for election in which group assemblies. We continually update the InfoPortal BV2021 and add new details to it.
The State Ministry for Culture and the Media (BKM) confirmed to GVL as early as last year in consultation with the Federal Ministry of Economics that: Remuneration by collective management organisations/music licensing companies which are usually collected for previous years and are paid out now, have no impact on the extraordinary economic support measures granted by the Federal Government.
In the two GVL talks held in February, the GVL staff welcomed parties interested in discussing their issues among actors (17 February) and producers (18 February). In total, more than 100 rights holders took part in the discussion rounds.

Every four years, during the GVL Assembly of Rights Holders, the GVL rights holders elect 22 representatives for the Assembly of Shareholders and Delegates, one of the most important governing bodies of GVL. Delegates are elected for the 15 group assemblies. All rights holders can participate in the Assembly of Rights Holders and the election of representatives.
The invites for the virtual Assembly of Rights Holders 2021 will be dispatched to our rights holders in April.
The consequences of the corona pandemic are dramatic for many creators and performers and music life is under threat of suffering long-term damage. The mid- and long-term impact of this cultural ice age, e.g. the social consequences of the pandemic, the extent of the migration of people into other professional branches or the threat to the survival of cultural and educational institutions can only be guessed at this time.
