After three years of negotiation, the collective management organisations, under the umbrella of the central collection and distribution organisation for private copying levies in Germany (ZPÜ), together with the producers and importers of PCs, under the umbrella of the associations BCH and BITKOM, have come to an understanding via new general agreements regarding the level of remuneration for copies made for private and other personal uses by means of personal computers.
GVL has started its bank transfers to producers for the remuneration related to sound recordings, distribution year 2012, this week.
Our distribution regulations form the basis for the annual payout of remuneration to our members.
The German Orchestra Association (registered association) [DOV] and the Federal Association of the Music Industry (registered association) [BVMI] have decreed a new version of GVL's Articles of Association in an extraordinary Associates' Assembly.
GVL is making a special payout to producers and artists.
GVL welcomed Lars Johna to the Board. The 46-year-old is successor to Jana Vejmelka and is an elected Board member for the group of producers of sound recordings.
For the first time, GVL paid out remuneration to artists represented by foreign collective management organisations based on the actual usage of productions.
With effect from 21 January 2013, Andreas Klöpfel was appointed as a GVL Board member for the group of producers of sound recordings.
GVL supports today's initiative "World Book and Copyright Day" which UNESCO has invited people to observe since 1995.
