The music culture in Germany, which is so diverse and provides an identity, finds itself in a dramatic situation in the face of the corona pandemic and faces an uncertain future.
GVL has adopted an additional type of short-term assistance: Advance payments to GVL producers of sound recordings were launched today. At the same time, we are working at full speed on advance payments for performers.
Today, intensive and constructive discussions between GVL and its associates continued. The objective is to provide GVL's rightsholders with further financial support in the coming weeks and months.
Over the period of just a few days, GVL mobilised all of its 190 employees to the extent that they are able to work from home and operations for our rightsholders can be maintained with only a few restrictions.
Due to the spread of the coronavirus, GVL decided on Monday 16 March 2020 to gradually reduce staff working in its offices and replace office presence with mobile working schemes.
Today, GVL started with its payouts of remuneration in the course of its final distribution 2010-2012, as well as for regular distributions 2013-2017 and the initial distribution 2018 (without music video clips) for event organisers.
Today GVL has started to provide the individual results of GVLs follow-up distributions for record producers for the usage years 2016, 2017 and 2018 in label.gvl.
