There were only a few changes to the content this year. The most important changes concern the so-called station lists – i.e. the lists of programmes to be evaluated. They were made in the following areas:
More than 180,000 performers and producers were called upon to participate in this year's delegate elections as part of the GVL Rights Holders' Assembly 2025. For the second time, the elections took place exclusively online, and for the first time, GVL had set aside an entire election week for this purpose from 2 to 6 June.
Today, GVL began making the individual distribution results for the initial distribution for 2024 available on the my.gvl portal. At the same time, we completed the regular distributions for the 2022 and 2023 years of use.
Payments have been initiated, and detailed reports and payment notifications have been made available in my.gvl. The final distribution for 2021 is currently scheduled for November 2025.
On 11 June 2025, GVL invited rights holders, newly elected delegates and industry representatives to Berlin. More than 200 performers and label representatives gathered in the Festsaal Kreuzberg for a diverse programme focusing on GVL and topics of interest to the creative scene.
The week before, GVL rights holders had already elected the delegates for the Associates’ and Delegates’ Assembly (Associates’ and Delegates’ Assembly). This marked the conclusion and highlight of the Rights Holders’ Assembly, which takes place every four years.
The GVL will once again be represented at c/o pop in Cologne this year and cordially invites musicians to attend the GVL events on 24 and 25 April 2025 at Herbrand's Ehrenfeld.

This week, GVL is kicking off the central event in its calendar for this year: From 2 to 6 June 2025, GVL rights holders will vote on who will represent them on the collecting society's committees. Afterwards, GVL will invite performers and producers to the Festsaal Kreuzberg on 11 June.
Invitations to rights holders will be sent by post and email on 9 and 10 April 2025.

Efficient processes and consistent data are key to ensuring that GVL distributions are made on time and correctly. This requires the analysis and processing of enormous amounts of data and the precise allocation of several million usage and participation reports.

8 May this year marks the 80th anniversary of the end of the Second World War. For this reason, the state of Berlin has declared this year's Liberation Day a special public holiday. The GVL will therefore be closed all day on Thursday, 8 May 2025.
We will be available again as usual from Friday, 9 May.
