Is your music going to be played on the radio (soon)? Then it's time to join GVL as an artist or label. That's because we make sure you get paid for it! In our session, you can learn more about GVL, the principle of collective rights management and exactly what GVL takes care of on your behalf. We will also explain how you can best register your productions with GVL and what else you should know.
GVL supports the call for regulation of generative AI formulated by Ed Newton-Rex. The short and clear statement warns of the consequences for the livelihoods of all those creatives whose works are used without permission as the basis for AI models. Unlicensed use would have fatal consequences for the economic basis of creatives and their partners.
Event organisers with remuneration can now find their individual distribution results for the final distribution 2020 in the my.gvl portal.
Based on the current planning for the final distribution 2021, we have set the deadline for contributions for this usage year of event organisers to June 30, 2025. The final distribution 2021 will take place in the 4th quarter of 2025, further regular distributions for the years 2022 and 2023 and the initial distribution 2024 will be completed in June 2025 according to current planning.
With this final distribution, GVL concludes the distribution for the usage year 2020. All funds, including provisions, that are available to us for this year will be distributed.
In total, around €20.2 million will be paid out in the final distribution for 2020. 170,872 performing artists participated in the distribution. These are all rights holders who have reported their contributions to used productions by the deadline.
At the beginning of August, GVL already forwarded remuneration from abroad to its entitled recording producers. Now the international royalties for performing artists will follow as planned. A total of around EUR 2.1 million from all over the world will be distributed.
To be eligible for the final distribution, the productions in which you have participated must have been broadcast on the radio or on TV in 2021.
Today, GVL has instructed the payments of the calculated distribution revenues. Rights holders can find further information and their individual detailed reports at label.gvl.de.
Today, GVL has completed an additional distribution of recently received ZPÜ back payments for the years 2016-2019. The payments of the calculated revenues have been instructed.
The corresponding payment notifications are provided in label.gvl. No detailed reports or broadcaster analyses were prepared for these supplementary distributions - the basis is the broadcasting minutes allocated in the respective final distributions for the years 2016-2019 concerned.
The virtual group assemblies will take place from June 2 to 6, 2025: In this context, GVL's rights holders will elect their 22 representatives* for the Associates' and Delegates' Assembly, GVL's core body, online.
