Producers: Final distribution started in 2020
We are pleased to report that we were able to increase the average allocation rate for 2020 to 96.44 percent with the final distribution due to further repertoire registrations and additional conflict resolutions.
‘A fresh cell therapy for the audience’
The Young Euro Classic (YEC) is a festival of the world's best youth orchestras. In its 25 years, it has established itself as an important platform for young international orchestras. We spoke with festival director Dr Gabriele Minz.
GVL: This year you celebrated the 25th anniversary of the Young Euro Classic. The festival is extremely well received by the Berlin audience, which is spoiled by world-class orchestras. How do you explain this enthusiasm for young talent?
GVL forwards international remuneration to performing artists
GVL distributes around 1.3 million Euros in this quarter, mainly from France, Austria and Japan. In total, we forwarded slightly more than 10.2 million Euros to our entitled performing artists from 26 different countries in 2024.
GVL distributes international funds to Producers.
The remuneration for this distribution round for our producers comes from Belgium, the Netherlands, Sweden, Finland and Spain. From the UK, we were able to distribute remuneration from the MTV group of channels for video clip broadcasts for a third time this year.

Together 18 per cent: the music industry ecosystem is growing
Berlin/Hamburg, 25 November 2024 – ‘The music industry grows and makes others grow’ – that is the core message of the 2024 Music Industry Study. The first results on the economic performance and significance of the music industry as a whole were presented and discussed in September as part of the Musikdialog Hamburg. The final report of the study, which has now been published, shows that In the music industry, everyone grows together – because the positive trend in the overall figures is reflected in every single sub-sector.
